2013 PADI Industry Update Chennai, India

The Scuba Diving Market in India has experienced phenomenal growth over the past 4 years, with numbers at the end of 2012 once again “crushing” previous records for PADI Asia Pacific and PADI Dive Centres and Resorts. As such, India’s diving industry is surely open and ready for business. Our PADI Industry Update meetings provide owners and managers with the opportunity to unite, allowing PADI to share past and present updates, along with new ideas for future support.
On May 1st 2013 witnessed the very first round table PADI Industry Update, investors and managers from Indian PADI dive Centres and Resorts were united for the very first time as they were invited to attend the meeting. Which was held at the Royal Meridian hotel, Chennai.
Tony Andrews PADI Regional Manager, declared the meeting officially open by welcoming PADI 5 Star IDC Barefoot Scuba, PADI 5 Star IDC Planet India, PADI 5 Star Centre Temple Adventures, PADI 5 Star Center Lacadives, PADI Centre Orca Dive Club, PADI centre Deep Blue Seas and many more members were invited.
Throughout the morning Mark Spiers Director of Sales and Field Services, and Tony Andrews presented how PADI Asia Pacific will be supporting India in 2013, along with highlighting some key areas of business support.
Once the beautiful Indian lunch has been digested, PADI members participated in an Open Forum, sharing and documenting ideas with some of these ideas being implemented as little as June 30th.
