The annual Diving Equipment & Marketing Association (DEMA) Show is the largest trade-only event in the world for companies doing business in the scuba diving, ocean water sports and adventure/dive travel industries. Emergency First Response® Instructor Trainer

PADI FreediverInstructor Crossover Orientation

This half-day program is open to freediving instructors from other organisations (who are not already PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors or higher) who would like to crossover and become PADI Freediver Instructors. To attend you must be a qualified freediver instructor, 18 years old or older, with a PADI Advanced Freediver or qualifying certification and a current EFR® (CPR/first aid) Instructor.

IDC Staff Instructor Update 2017

PADI Basic Freediver Course

Registration fee – USD $199

Are you interested in the PADI Freediver program, but have questions about it? Do you want to give it a try? Take the opportunity to complete the PADI Basic Freediver course while at the DEMA Show.

This half-day event covers the knowledge development and confined water portions of the PADI Freediver course, and successful completion results in certification as a PADI Basic Freediver. At a later date you can complete the two open water sessions to become certified as a PADI Freediver.

Registration includes the PADI Freediver Touch™ confined water session and certification as a PADI Basic Freediver. Please register no later than Thursday, 3 November, to receive the Touch code to complete independent study in time for the confined water session on Saturday, 19 November.

You don’t need special freediving equipment to participate – just bring your regular fins, mask and snorkel.

Miniseminars at the Las Vegas Convention Center


By attending the PADI Products, Programs and Standards and Risk Management 2016 miniseminars, along with two additional presentations, PADI Members can regain Teaching status after not renewing for one to three years. To gain seminar credits toward the PADI Master Instructor rating or Course Director Training Course application, PADI Members receive one credit for every three PADI Miniseminars attended. Attendance validation is required for credit and forms will be available at the seminars.

The Mathematics of Diver Risk: How Seemingly Trivial Choices Radically

As divers, we make decisions that involve risk. But, incident data analysis suggests we’re sometimes unaware just how much our decisions alter our risk. This miniseminar shows how deviations from accepted dive practices that may seem reasonable and minor, actually increase the probability of a fatality substantially – by more than a thousand percent in the extreme.
