How to update your PADI eLearning preferences on the PADI Pros’ Site

More and more languages and products are being added to the PADI eLearning experience now and in the future. It is important to let your customers know what you offer. Customers who affiliate with your PADI Dive Shop via PADI eLearning will only see the courses and products you have selected.

As a PADI Dive Center or Resort, you can easily update this via this direct PADI Pros’ Site Link that takes you straight to the below page.

Alternatively you can also update this by logging onto the PADI Pros’ Site with your PADI Dive Center or Resort login, clicking on the ‘My Account’ tab, navigating down to the ‘My Store Applications’ title and clicking the ‘My eLearning Preferences’ link.

If you have any questions please contact PADI Tech Support techsupport@padi.com.au who are available 7 days a week.

PADI Digital Core Courses Expand Reach

With more languages added to Open Water Diver, Enriched Air Diver and Freediver™ courses, and the PADI eLearning® experience becoming even more fluid, PADI® strengthens its claim as the leader in diver training.

Scuba diving is a sport/hobby/obsession that bridges borders and cultures, bringing people around the world together to enjoy the underwater environment. But people around the world have different needs and, more importantly, speak different languages. PADI accounts for this when creating its eLearning products.

The PADI organization is making it easier for PADI Divers to access learning materials, with a digital suite of core courses that are easy to purchase, download and use. Now, these materials are offered in more languages than ever before too – further demonstrating that PADI truly is the way the world learns to dive.

Now, additional languages will be available for Open Water Diver, Enriched Air Diver and the popular Freediver courses (with more languages in more courses to come).

  • PADI Open Water Diver – Open Water Diver now available in seven new languages: Czech, Croatian, Greek, Hungarian, Indonesian, Russian and Turkish.
  • PADI Enriched Air Diver – Along with the existing English and Japanese the popular course is now available in 14 additional languages: Arabic, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Norwegian, Russian, Spanish or Swedish. The following languages will be released soon; Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Thai, Indonesian, Hebrew and Polish.
  • PADI Freediver – Along with the existing English, the popular Freediver program is now available in 11 additional languages: Arabic, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish & Thai , with Korean and Russian soon to follow.

The PADI Library app will reflect these changes. If divers have automatic updates turned on in their device settings, the app will update automatically.  If not, they will need to make sure they update their app.

PADI Dive Centers and Resorts, be sure to update your eLearning preferences in your account to reflect the courses and languages you support.

Please note: as these changes roll out, you will likely notice a name change on some of the products in the Online Processing Centre, on your invoices and the online shop, so below are the relative product names you will see when ordering materials

eLearning Lite – previously called: Certification Pak Lite, Lite Paks

eLearning (Touch) – previously called: Premium Open Water Diver Digital Certification Pak (Offline), Touch

eLearning – what we know as traditional eLearning online stays the same

Towards end of this year beginning of next year this will transition into only have two categories as per below:

eLearning – traditional eLearning and Touch will merge into one product that can be used on either computer/laptops or on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets

eLearning Lite – previously called: Certification Pak Lite, Lite Paks

Keep an eye out as more updates to the eLearning experience are coming soon.

What’s the difference between ReActivate Touch and Scuba Tune up eLearning?

111115 - Image 2How many times have you heard, “I’m a certified diver, but it’s been a little while since I was in the water”?

Have you asked yourself what a newly refreshed and active diver is actually worth to you and your PADI Dive Centre?

  • How much would you make from selling a new Mask, Snorkel & Fins?
  • How much could you earn from selling PADI Continuing Education Courses?
  • How about inviting them on a recreational Dive Trip to use their newly refreshed skills?

Now ask yourself what is the difference between ReActivate Touch and Scuba Tune up e-Learning?

ReActivate Touch

The ReActivate program includes the ReActivate Touch that you can download to your tablet or mobile device. Refreshing your diving knowledge has never been easier or more convenient. The PADI ReActivate program also:

  • Delivers cutting edge technology to re-educate you on fundamental scuba knowledge you may have forgotten since your last dive.
  • Offers a prescriptive approach to refresh skills you need or want to focus on. Your PADI Instructor will work with you to get you acclimated with gear set up and skills you’ll work on prior to jumping back into the water.
  • Includes a completion certificate for those who finish the academic portion and a PADI replacement card if you complete both academic and in-water skills with a PADI Instructor.

The best part is, divers who complete both the knowledge and in-water skill refresher receive a replacement certification card with a ReActivated date on it.

Your PADI certification does not expire.  Participation in PADI ReActivate™ is not mandatory, but recommended as an easy way to refresh your foundational scuba safety knowledge and skills if you haven’t been diving in a while.

111115 - Image 1  To assist you with your marketing efforts for PADI ReActivate and PADI Equipment Specialist Touch, there is a comprehensive marketing toolkit available on the PADI Pros’ Site in the Marketing Toolbox section. This marketing toolkit provides a full range of resources including website banners, social media collateral, email templates, digital brochures, images, consumer information, digital posters and much more.

PADI is also undertaking a targeted consumer campaign for PADI ReActivate (and PADI Equipment Specialist Touch) in November and December, so it’s a great time to make sure your PADI Dive Shop is effectively promoting these to benefit from this campaign.

PADI eLearning – are you onboard yet?

eLearning

Connecting with PADI Dive Centres or Resorts is even easier for millions of prospective divers with the PADI eLearning™ system.

Initially launched in 2007 with the PADI Open Water Diver Course Online, there are currently nine PADI eLearning programs offered in as many as nine languages each. The PADI eLearning juggernaut continues to gain steam as enrollments are up more than 26 percent in 2012 as compared to the same time last year.

Benefits of PADI eLearning to Dive Centres and Resorts

  • You share revenue for student divers who affiliate with your business
  • Your customers have another option for fitting knowledge developement into their busy lives
  • Your new customers have received consistent education, equipment and experience promotions
  • New divers are delivered to your store

The goals of the PADI eLearning model are simple:

  • To increase entry-level diver enrolments by expanding dive centre business hours to 24/7
  • To drive new, enthusiastic student divers to the dive centre to fulfill not only their training completion needs, but also all of their diving needs
  • To help interest divers in more dive education, equipment and experiences

PADI’s eLearning model works one of three ways:

  1. PADI Dive Centres and Resorts can choose to place a link on their website that allows new student divers to sign up for online knowledge development learning. This automatically affiliates the diver with that store.
  2. Potential divers who find the eLearning link on padi.com will be prompted to first affiliate with a local PADI Dive Centre or Resort before continuing on to the eLearning site.
  3. PADI Dive Centres and Resorts can purchase eLearning gift passes for their students. These can be mailed directly to the divers which also automatically affiliates the diver with that store. This is very useful if you offer a package which includes the eLearning fee.

eLearning is all about convenience – the opportunity to begin and continue diver education beginning on the internet and continuing through PADI Dive Centres and Resorts. Through an interactive web-based program new students will read, hear and see the same material other student divers receive from interacting with the PADI Manuals, Video or Multimedia.

After enrolling, PADI’s eLearning system presents the student with interactive presentations that include videos, audio, graphics and reading. Short quizzes allow them to gauge their progress, and review and correct anything they might happen to miss. It lets them move through the program efficiently and at their own pace.

One of the most talked about benefits of PADI eLearning is how easy it is for PADI Members to offer the program. PADI has developed a set up program simple enough that anyone familiar with a keyboard and computer could easily navigate.

An outline to the basics of this program is available to PADI Retail & Resort Association Members on the PADI Pros site, including:

  • How PADI Dive Centres and Resorts can prepare to welcome eLearners into their business
  • What the eLearner experiences
  • How PADI Dive Centres and Resorts can integrate eLearning into their current training programs
  • What tools are available to help PADI Dive Centres and Resorts communicate with eLearners along with answers to other important questions on eLearning.

PADI Retail and Resort Association Members can get started by logging on to the PADI Pros site at padi.com and following the simple step-by-step instructions.

PADI Instructors can also be involved in the eLearning program.
